Introducing: Art Bar

Art Bar is the newest specialty store made by possible by National Book Store, strategically situated in Serendra Piazza, McKinley Parkway, Fort Bonifacio, BGC. It’s a concept art store with two floors of hard-to-find art materials, even those that aren’t generally found in any other art shop in the Philippines. It’s definitely a go-to for artists and crafters alike.
Being a concept store, it offers…
The first floor contains basic art and craft materials, of which includes scrapbooking materials, a variety of colored pencil illustration mediums differing from brands and types, and even calligraphy tools. If you’re not familiar with the brand or the type, Art Bar has a testing table for their products to help ensure you choose the right tool.
Moving up to second floor, you’ll find top-of-the-line art supplies for professional artists. There are paints, brushes, canvases and papers in various brands, types, sizes and colors. Some of which are often those that pro artists generally have difficulty finding. More than that, the second floor also includes a workshop area (yes, you read that right!) This is specifically designed for hosting Art Bar’s events. It can also be rented as a venue for other events such as seminars, launches, or talks.
If you need a moment to sit down to rest or think over what you need, the Art Bar also has a nook cafe in partnership with Toby’s Estate located in the first floor.
What to do with its supplies?
With the variety of art supplies that can be found in the Art Bar, what can you make out of it? Here are some of the recommended art activities that you can make out of the finds you can buy from Art Bar.
- Watercolor Painting
The return of watercolor’s popularity has come with no intention of going out. With this, watercolor materials have also evolved from traditional art brushes to water brushes, and from watercolor tubes to portable watercolor pans that enabled artists to bring their art everywhere. Watercolor has never been this fun!
- Illustration
For those who prefer doodling than anything, Art Bar can offer you its great selection of pencils, pens, and markers along with its smooth to ultra-smooth type of papers. Perhaps a 48-piece boxed set of Shinhan Art Touch brush twin markers? Or Faber Castell’s Pitt Artist set of pens?
- Tie-dye
It may have been long ago for us, but tie-dying is still up and about in the art space. If you’re looking for these materials, simply transport to Art Bar and you’ll definitely have something to make out of your old clothes. No worries, you can always choose a kit to help you with!
- Calligraphy and Lettering
Millennials have powered the rebirth of calligraphy and lettering, even putting it into a whole new different level. There’s no denying how fascinating these type of artworks can look like, and how they can turn into profitable investments today. Inks, nibs, holders, brushes, and calligraphy or lettering books can be found in the Art Bar. And yes, they do have Chameleon Color Tones pens, and Abbey Sy’s lettering books!
- Sculpting and Pottery
Crafters can also find pottery and sculpting materials at the Art Bar. From clay to plaster to cutting equipments, every other materials is there. All you need to do is the patience and effort on doing it, and you’re good to go! If you want a kit, they do also have. You don’t need to bother to look for every other material anymore.
