No Parking Fees: How to Commute to BGC

Bonifacio Global City is home to multiple large malls, fine dining experiences, and condos for sale in The Fort. Although it contains countless hangout spots as well as countless facilities such as the best gyms in Manila, it is a relatively small place – it’s not uncommon for employees living and working in the area to take relaxing walks on their way to their office. Aside from the city’s walkability, this is in part also because taking a car can be quite expensive due to parking fees.

Commuting is a good option for those that wish to save money and reduce your carbon footprint. There are regulations in the city that limit public transportation to reduce heavy traffic, but there are many ways to get to BGC.

The BGC Bus

Part of the rules and regulations of BGC is the limitation of regular buses travelling through the area. Jeepneys are not allowed to enter as well. Commuting is still made possible by BGC-branded buses that serve those who wish to go in and around BGC. As such, this is the best way to your destination.

Unlike regular buses, tickets for BGC buses are not sold on board – you can get these at a nearby ticket hub. If your commute route is via the MRT, you’ll find the bus station (and the tickets) near the northeast exit of the Ayala MRT Station.

From here, the buses go different routes which also depends on the time. You can find all the details here: https://bgc.com.ph/page/west-route

There is also a BGC Arca South Bus which can be found in FTI (Food Terminal Incorporated). This takes commuters to Market! Market!

Jeepney to Market! Market!

While technically not allowed within BGC, jeepneys are also useful for getting to the Fort. There are several jeep routes that will take you to Market! Market!, one of BGC’s many malls. Taking a jeep to there is a great and cheap alternative for those going to destinations near the area and for those who don’t mind a bit of walking.

A jeepney terminal can be found by the Jollibee near Guadalupe MRT Station. Look for the jeepney that says “AFP Housing” or “Gate 3”.

From the south, there is a jeepney route that originates from the East Service Road side of Sucat that reaches all the way to Market! Market!. This can be found near Concepcion street.

Lastly, beneath the Ayala MRT Station is a jeepney terminal which also has a route going to Market! Market!

FX Terminal at Mckinley Hill

There is an FX terminal in Mckinley Hill that goes to and from here and other parts of Metro Manila such as Alabang, Marikina, Ayala, Magallanes, and Pasig. This can be found near Mckinley Hill Stadium (formerly known as Emperador Stadium.) Passengers that alight there will find themselves near destinations on that side of BGC.

Although commuting to BGC is different from most cities, it’s just a matter of getting used to the routes. In a matter of time you’ll see how much more convenient it is, and how much cleaner the city is because of it. Also, with how well maintained the BGC buses are, commuting to different parts of the city is a breeze.
